The Plant Pathology group at the ETH is best known for its research in
- biological control
- crop disease phenotyping
- evolutionary pathogenomics
- pathogen evolutionary ecology
- pathogen genetics and genomics
- population genomics and evolution.
Our research spans the spectrum in agriculture, from molecular- to ecosystem-orientation and from mathematical theory to field application. We consider this research breadth to be a strength as it allows us to train students in a cross-disciplinary fashion.
The group has many international collaborations and attracts students and scientists from several countries, as evidenced by the fact that as many as 16 nationalities can be found working at any time within our group. We consider this cultural diversity to be an asset because our research has a significant international orientation
Members of the Plant Pathology group meet regularly for PhD exams, celebrations of published work and an annual costume party and travel together for national and international excursions. Here you will find some photos associated with various social events occurring within the Plant Pathology group.
